I think it's all or nothing. I remember reading a year or so ago about how they were considering getting rid of Paula and who some possible replacements were.... but admit it, if any one of the judges were gone, it would never be the same, and we'd always be comparing them to the original.
Of the three, I like Simon the most. No nonsense, straight to the point, and usually pretty on target. |

I don't even like American Idol much, but Simon can definitely be very entertaining at times.
Unfortunately for American Idol and it's contestants, I really have not liked any of them. The musical styles they represent do little for me, although I do respect the talent of some contestants. |

I really don't have a favorite, I've only watched the show maybe twice... But I did want to step in here and say how much I hate Simon Cowell... You would think a man of his success would not be so rude... There is no reason for him to act the way he does... All the time rolling his eyes at contestants for there singing abilities, or lack thereof... And criticising contestants performance in the worst way... He could let these people down softly, not insult them and try and make them feel 2 inches tall... Well despite his successes, he refused to sign a contract with ‘The Spice Girls’ when they were first starting out saying they had no talent and also ‘Take That’ simply because he thought Gary Barlow was too fat to ever be a star... Well he made some pretty big mistakes there... ![]() ![]()

I think the judges of American Idol are great: one with the attitude (Simon), one with a soft heart (Paula), and one for being just in between (Randy). But as for the favorite judge of mine, that would be Simon. Although I myself would be hurt by his way of judging, I would rather have his honest opinion than the other two judges.

I don't really have a favorite but I do enjoy watching how they interact.
Paula pretty much can't say no - ever. You watch the early rounds and she will find any possible way to reject the person nicely without saying no. Simon pointed this out at one point this season. That was funny. It seems this year Paula and Randy are kind of joining forces against Simon. Simon can take his negativity and cynicism a bit too far, but he is honest and he does know what he is talking about. People need to hear the bad and the good. If they don't know what they are doing wrong, they'll keep doing it that way and never learn/improve. Although, he could ease up on the commentary on people's looks. This is a singing competition, not a beauty pageant. |
