Help! how to change my dvd into these!!!?

Okay so I have a Tio Samsung that can play video(wmv and mpeg4.) i really want to be able to play my favorite clips of movies and tv shows to put on. i mainly want to put on my supernatural episodes. i bought both seasons and i want to be able to put a couple episodes from the dvd on my mp3 really bad! i've tried some converters but nothing has worked. i've tried the trials and i'm so glad i didn't by them because they didn't work at all.

please help me if you know of good dvd converters to do this (free too)

also i have an ipod and i was wondering if there were converters for this.
