Default addicted to "reality" shows

hi, my name is amanda and i am a reality tv show addict.

::waves::

seriously though, it's ridiculous. lately i've found myself watching them over and over again as well, especially the ones on vh1 (like rock of love, flava of love, etc) and i'm also getting into miss rap surpreme.

so mostly, this post is just out of curiosity. who else watches these shows, or also finds themselves addicted to "reality" shows?

let me know i'm not alone!

I assure you that you are absolutely not the only one, but I hate them personally.

They just seem to be nothing but shallow garbage with pre-fabricated drama and scripted "story lines" or whatever you would rather call it.

A few of the shows are somewhat entertaining, but the majority are terrible in my honest opinion.

There are a few I do like to watch. For some reason I have this weird addiction to Big Brother. This season just finished up but I just like that show! Also, I like Amazing Race because I feel like it's not so much like all the other reality shows.

It's like a guilty pleasure. I used to watch Surreal Life religiously. But I guess after watching these shows, I came to realize that it's just ridiculous and that these celebrities are clearly in it for their 15 minutes of fame. I don't have anything against reality show junkies but I would like to think I've weaned myself off them.

Default Can't stand them

I've seen a few here and there but there hasn't been one yet that held my interest for more than 10 minutes. For one, that is not reality...we all know there is a lot of scripting and set-ups on those shows. For another, just because you are rich/famous/both just doesn't mean you're interesting...lol.

You are definitely not alone. While I think most of them are stupid and abusive of my intelligence, I still go ahead and watch them. My favourite is "The Apprentice" but any of them that I catch is fodder for the mill.

I like the more obscure ones... Project Runway, Top Chef, the Amazing Race. Non-competitve ones like Dirty Jobs and Flip that House or Moving up. I think they are a total waste of time, but somehow I just sit there watching them.

i love project runway and top chef (which is on tonight!) but i'm not sure how project runway will survive on lifetime next season.
