I don't know if CARTOON NETWORK is a fancy cable channel...

...but I will certainly be watching OLD KIDS SHOWS, loving every minute of it....potentially.

If all else fails, people should illegally download it.

I loved a lot of Anime as a kid. All that imported stuff like Star Blazers, Battle Of The Planets, Astroboy and Robotech.

I was a HUGE Robotech. It totally blew my mind to watch an animated show that had a complete story arc with a definite ending and actually killed of lots of principal characters.

Funny thing how AK mentioned Sesame Street. Next time you're out looking at DVDs, read the small print on the back of the Sesame Street 'Old School' box set. it actually says that the programming is no longer suitable for teaching children.
Huh? Since when? If anything, the show taught kids more 30 years ago. Now it's just half an hour of Elmo-related programming and another half-hour of just Elmo.

Some of the older kids shows I grew up on include PBS shows like The Electric Company, Sesame Street, and Mr Rogers Neighborhood. I was also a big fan of that show where the kids sang all the time called Kids Incorporated. My own kids still watch Sesame Street and Mr Rogers and I'm glad they're both still on.

You must be amongst the Gen-Xers here, like myself. Not too many people remember The Electric Company anymore. I loved the non-violent Spider-Man and his word bubbles as well as Morgan Freeman as Easy Reader.

Cool

s is a show that I cannot decide whether I love it, or I hate it. Sometimes I watch it and it rocks. Others it just grates on my nerves.

Okay, this is sooo going to date me but my favorite when I was a kid was Zoom. It was on either right before or right after (I can't remember which) Electric Company, which I also liked. Zoom taught me "ubbi-dubbi" which when I got older the girls called gibberish. We would talk that way when we didn't want the boys to know what we talked about and it was absolutely forbidden to teach it to a guy....lol.
