Did you wait for an upcoming movie so long and then realized it is a bad one?

Did you at some point wait for an announced movie, buy it, see it and then realize it was not that good?

Not that I didn't like The Mist or that I waited really long for the movie. But I did want to watch it, went out of my way to watch it, spent money to watch it and ended up being sooooo frustrated with the ending. It wasn't a bad movie but the ending was just soooo frustrating. Maybe it was part of the movie's 'charm', for lack of a better word. I think one of the movie-goers said the right thing about the ending, "Man, that's just wrong!"

Yes, there have been a few movies that I waited for a long, long time and then I couldn't stand them when they came out. I hated the disappointment, but then that's life isn't it! The Devil Wears Prada was one of them, then there was Shaun of the Dead, and Mr Bean's Holiday.

I guess I just grew up since I last saw Bean :D

I don't remember this happening to me.. maybe it's because i don't really wait for a movie to come out. I only wait for the next episode of some sitcom to be aired :D
I guess if this happened to me i would be very disappointed.
Sometimes i watch movies recommended by friends or colleagues.. I am not anxious to see them if i don't hear 3-4 opinions.. I would hate wasting my time on some bad movie.

Yes in deed I have, it was the "March of the penguin" movie... I really thought I would like it, but I have never been so bored in all my life... And I kept thinking its going to get good in a minute... I would have got better use out of that $10 bucks if I had burned it for heat... And I remember peeps were standing in line to see it... And I've heard people say they liked it... Well I wish I had that 2 hours of my life back... Click the cat to watch the trailer...

This actually happens to me all the time, I am waiting so much for a movie, read all kind of things about it and get so excited, that when I finally see it... I am disappointed, as my expectations were always much higher!
I guess this is because of the high promotion of the movies nowadays - if I wouldn't be assaulted so much with informations about these movies, I probably wouldn't care that much, and don't end up like this.

They are friends in real life. It shows in the special features of the Hot Fuzz dvd. Now that was a good movie!

Anyway, I have experienced the disappointment of waiting for a movie so long then having it suck.
