Intellectual intrigue! I like lots of action, and this movie sure has it. I especially liked the historical tidbits in this piece, and what a great day, July 4th, to watch it! There was a little romance and a little comedy thrown in, too. Nicholas Cage is very engaging as the honest, not-able-to-bluff-anyone and little bit bumbling professor. All in all very entertaining to watch.

I agree with you mmnviola. I really enjoyed this movie. What's not to like since it combined my love for history with my admiration for Nicholas Cage as an actor? I haven't seen the entire sequel yet but the parts I did see did not seem to measure up to the first.

Overall the second film was better than the first. I love the first film and thought the second would not live up to the first but I was wrong. I really enjoy both films though.

Sweeney Todd Movie Review

Director Tim Burton has already proven a talent for creating gothic worlds, but with this film I think he’s outdone himself. Old London town has never been so ghoulishly gruesome as through Burton’s eyes.

Lonely Hearts Movie Review

Lonely Hearts follows two sides of the story. Of course it follows Beck (Salma Hayek, Frida) and Fernandez (Jared Leto, Requiem for a Dream). The movie gives little background on them, and does show how they met, but not much beyond that.

Mad Money Movie Review

At first, I hadn’t even intended to watch this movie. The trailers made it appear mediocre at best, and I had heard next to nothing about it from anyone. But I was bored and it was there, so I gave Mad Money a shot. And I was happily surprised.
