I don’t think No Country for Old Men is the masterpiece that everyone seems to say it is. Now, don’t misunderstand. It’s superbly shot - the use of Texan landscapes is magnificent. The acting is brilliant from start to finish which is incredible considering the amount of dialogue there is in the movie. You would think at some point the actors would start looking sheepish at the having to portray so much without words...

snookumsnort I was rooting for Casey Affleck to win Best Supporting Actor in the Oscars, but I can see after watching No Country for Old Men why Javier Bardem won. He portrays such a haunting interpretation of the killer. But why the movie won Best Picture is still a mystery to me. I think Gone Baby Gone was better and I have yet to see the other Best Picture nominees. I even found this movie to be a bit...
