Jimmy Dore, the writer/performer for the off-Broadway hit 'The Marijuana-Logues,' was born into a Catholic family of twelve in a very blue-collar neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. Tagged a rebel for occasionally reading a book and thinking for himself, Jimmy quickly turned to comedy to ease the pain of the beatings. After moving to Los Angeles in 1995, he broke into television with a flurry of appearances on basic cable and then quickly moved to network TV in '97 with an appearance on NBC's 'Friday Night Videos.' He soon became a show favorite, returning five times over the course of the next year. Tropic Thunder Movie Review

I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the movie, but about halfway through my interested started to drop. There were still a couple good moments in the second half, but not as many as I expected.

I like dark comedies. I love laughing at things that I probably shouldn’t be laughing at, but do anyway. So when I first saw previews for the movie The Savages, I felt that it was a movie right up my alley, and I was right. This movie is more family drama, but it does have some dark comedy thrown in at just the right moments to help lighten the drama.
