Here is my review.......HOLY SH**!!!!! There are no words to describe this film. The level of anxiety and dread that you feel in this film trumps anything that has EVER been on film before. This is an instant masterpiece. All of the performances are absolutely stellar and if this does not WIN best picture of the year............

This movie was what I expected it to be and also...

Glad to hear a good stellar review about it Obiwan! It definitely confirms my plans to see it soon, but I'll be more like Binkley and wait a few weeks for the crowds to subside, I need a little bit of elbow room when I'm watching a movie.

I had to go back and see it again today because I missed 15 minutes of the film yesterday while I argued with management about a blown speaker. They refused to fix the problem and dialogue last night was only coming from the right side of the screen. I felt like I was deaf in my left ear. And they knew about it before they put us in there. That is a story for another day.

Anyway,...

I'm extremely glad to have seen this! It was great! Heath Ledger was a natural Joker. He was funny but you know you wouldn't want to mess with him. And I hated the Joker in this film...which is good! We were comparing his acting to Jack Nicholson's. And the consensus was that Jack Nicholson was acting more like Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Heath Ledger seemed more into the essence of the... Deleted scenes I can understand if there aren't any, but it's a huge oversight IMO to not have commentary with it. My 2-disc version of Batman Begins doesn't have commentary with it, which really stinks. I wonder if Nolan has ever given any reasoning for not having commentary on this one, and maybe he can rectify it with The Dark Knight. Heck, even George Lucas has laid down commentary with Star... Powerful acting, powerful action, huge IMAX sequences give this Batman a great big commanding feel. However, story is held hostage to action, especially in the second half.

This isn't my own opinion - just so you don't all jump on me :yuck-orange: because I'm looking forward to seeing this myself.

But I'm an adult so what's the opinion of those of you who've seen it as to whether it is suitable for children or not? Big debate going on here in the UK, the bulk of which is that the Board of Censors got it very wrong by not awarding it a 15 or 16...

I think it should be ok. The beginning sequence is the worst of it for the film. The only thing in the movie that might get a child that age is the look of Two-face. It is pretty grusome. And he does probably have about 7-10 minutes of actual screen time. What the Joker does is sometimes shocking but you never actually see anything. The camera might be off to the side and such.

Stubblecat

I'm actually a little surprised that it didn't get an 'R' rating. I guess being a big-budget studio franchise film will help get things past the ratings board easier.

The film is very intense. An excellent followup. A wee bit long, but it can be forgiven.

Best! Heath is perfect as joker. It was the last but t'was the best :)

Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight is the second movie of Nolans Batman film series. The story of the movie is set one year after the events of the first movie Batman Begins, took place. While still trying to restore order to toxin plundered city of Gotham, Batman faces a new challenge in the form of a mysterious man named Joker, who is an anarchist and a criminal mastermind whose... Del Toro will move to New Zealand for the next four years to work with Jackson and his Wingnut and WETA production teams. Step Brothers movie review

Some people may think Ferrell is just up to his old schtick, which I can see what they mean, but I love it. He was in his element with this movie, and it was much better than some of his other roles as of late.
