I don’t know what is creepier than masks. They freak me out, especially the ones that are supposed to look happy. So I was pretty excited to see The Strangers, and be freaked out by some people wearing creepy masks ..

It does draw you in and I had to double-check all our doors and windows even if we live in just an apartment. I think the added "scare value" comes from the fact that it was inspired by true events. Man, there are some sick people out there! A good rained-in or snowed-in movie when you have someone to cuddle up with. I say it's a 3 out of 5. (close)

filmfanatic I have to agree this movie had a lot of scare but no real plot. It wasn't until I got home and crawled into bed that I remembered it was based on a true story. Then I got up and checked all the doors and windows. I even jumped at my own reflection in the mirror.

Horton Hears a WHO! Movie Review

I think what I found most refreshing about this movie is that it took me a while to figure out which characters Jim Carey and Steve Carell were playing. It seriously could have been the other way around and I really like that. It felt like they were actually making an effort to play the characters as opposed to just being a famous voice in an animated cartoon.
