A funny, moving romantic drama about the power of love and family, Lionsgate's TYLER PERRY'S MEET THE BROWNS marks another winning portrayal of life by writer/director/actor Tyler Perry (DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN, MADEA'S FAMILY REUNION) and features a return to the big screen by Madea, the indomitable, law-breaking, fun-loving grandma.
A single mother living in inner city Chicago, Brenda has been struggling for years to make ends meet and keep her three kids off the street. But when she's laid off with no warning, she starts losing hope for the first time ' until a letter arrives announcing the death of a father she's never met. Desperate for any kind of help, Brenda takes her family to Georgia for the funeral. But nothing could have prepared her for the Browns, her father's fun-loving, crass Southern clan. In a small-town world full of long afternoons and country fairs, Brenda struggles to get to know the family she never knew existed'and finds a brand new romance that just might change her life.
Based on the popular stage production of the same name, TYLER PERRY'S MEET THE BROWNS is a charming story about the joys of family, and the possibility of second chances. TYLER PERRY'S MEET THE BROWNS was written and directed by Tyler, and produced by Reuben Cannon.

Tropic Thunder Movie Review
I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the movie, but about halfway through my interested started to drop. There were still a couple good moments in the second half, but not as many as I expected.

Pineapple Express Movie Review
I think ‘stoner’ comedies are funny. I’ve watched the Cheech and Chong movies numerous times (although I probably shouldn’t have seen them at the age I did), and I love Harold and Kumar…but would I love Dale and Saul, the stoner buddies of Pineapple Express? The answer is a resounding YES!

National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets
It would be pretty easy to be scathing about this movie if it weren't for the fact that I don't think it sets its ambitions that high in the first place. If you've watched the first installment of National Treasure you'll know that everyone involved is looking to make a film that tries nothing more than to be entertaining for a couple of hours.

We Own the Night Movie Review
We Own the Night is one of those solid police movies that tries to rely on straight forward story telling rather leaning on a multitude of action scenes. Unfortunately, the script doesn't really carry the weight of expectation as only Phoenix's character gets the chance to display any real complexity.

The Savages Movie Review
I like dark comedies. I love laughing at things that I probably shouldn’t be laughing at, but do anyway. So when I first saw previews for the movie The Savages, I felt that it was a movie right up my alley, and I was right. This movie is more family drama, but it does have some dark comedy thrown in at just the right moments to help lighten the drama.
